PDF tools that never upload your files
Most PDF websites send your document to their servers to work on it. DiscreteDocs doesn't. Every tool runs inside your browser, on your own device — so your file never leaves it.
- Open any tool, like Compress PDF, and let the page load.
- Turn on airplane mode or switch off Wi-Fi.
- Add your file and press the button. It still works — there is no server to send it to.
Upload sites vs. DiscreteDocs
| Typical PDF website | DiscreteDocs | |
|---|---|---|
| Where your file goes | Uploaded to their servers | Stays on your device |
| Who could see it | The company, its hosting provider, anyone who breaks in | Only you |
| Deleting it | “Deleted after 1–2 hours” — you trust them | Nothing to delete |
| Works offline | No | Yes, once the page has loaded |
| Slow internet | Wait to upload and download | No upload wait |
| Sign-up, watermark | Often, for bigger files or more tasks | Never |
How it works
Modern browsers can run real software. DiscreteDocs uses proven open-source engines — pdf.js and pdf-lib for PDFs, LibreOffice for Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Tesseract for OCR in 120+ languages and PDFium for true redaction — running right inside the page. When you press a button, your phone or computer does the work and saves the result straight back to your device.
Another way to check
On a computer, open your browser's developer tools (F12), go to the Network tab and use any tool. You will see the page's own files load, but your document is never sent.
Made for private documents
Aadhaar and PAN cards, bank statements, salary slips, contracts, medical reports, marksheets — the documents people most often need to compress, sign or convert are also the ones that should never sit on a stranger's server.
Questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. DiscreteDocs opens your file inside your browser and does the work on your own device. There is no upload step and no server that receives files — not ours, not anyone else's.
Do the tools work offline?
Yes. Once a tool page has loaded, you can turn on airplane mode or switch off Wi-Fi and the tool keeps working. That is the easiest proof that nothing is being sent anywhere.
Do you store or delete my files after an hour?
There is nothing to store or delete. Upload-based sites keep your file on their servers and promise to delete it later. DiscreteDocs never receives the file in the first place.
Is it safe for Aadhaar, PAN, bank statements and contracts?
Yes — this is what it was built for. Because the file stays on your device, it is as private as opening it in any app on your phone or computer.
Do I need to sign up or install anything?
No. There is no account, no app and no extension. Open the page and use the tool.
Is there a file-size limit?
We set none. The only limit is your device's memory — most phones and laptops handle files of hundreds of MB.
Why is it free?
Because your device does the work, we don't pay for servers to process files. That keeps costs low enough to keep every tool free, with no watermark.
What do you collect?
Anonymous counts: which tools are used, the settings picked, how many files and their type and total size. Never file names, file contents or anything you type. Visitors in the EU, UK and Switzerland are asked first.
